A Doubt

Hebrews 13:14-15

“For this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come. Therefore, let us offer through Jesus a continual sacrifice of praise to God, proclaiming our allegiance to his name.”

What do we do when faced with in surmountable obstacles that seem to block everything we want or need to do in life? How do we react when life does not go the way we want and turns our plans into sand? When faced with situations out of our control, what should we do?

The thing about life is that it is completely unpredictable. My brother recently speculated on how someone starting a business could do everything in their power to make it succeed, and people have a complete expectancy for the idea to work; and then it turns into a flop. On the other hand, someone else could do nothing for their business and have it become a complete hit and exceed the standard.

Given the enormity of our lives, how can we help but doubt? This world will chew you and spit you out.

What remains? If anything, my sorrows remind me of something else. I am dissatisfied with the world’s way of doing things because I see a better alternative. Yet never in my life have I seen or known what that better alternative is like. Still, our hearts yearn for things to go smoothly, for people to not fight, for poverty to be eradicated, for our lives to be joyful and painless. Why?

Because our home is not here. We desire a true home. Today i encourage you, dwell not on things of this world. Rather, take comfort that it does not end here.

Be blessed Today.
