1 John 3:16
“Hereby know we love, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.”
The well worn path of a traveler with no road is lonely.
I love words. I always have. Something about the power behind the smallest statement that can capture attention, enrich the imagination and set free the gates of thoughts which are normally unprovoked. How incredible is it that we can speak? Have we ever thought or asked the question (which many people have asked) of how it is we speak?
The very process of communication is enough to boggle the mind.
“Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never harm me”, is a useful phrase sometimes, but represents the opposite of reality.
Words can and will hurt. We have so much power, think about it this way:
God spoke the world into being. He didn’t think it, or just make it, He spoke the world into existence. How much more should we consider our words when we realize they have the power to create and tear down worlds?
I come to respect the words written in the Scriptures more and more every day. It only takes a second glance, the detailed peruse to find deeper and more significant messages hidden in the pages of God’s love letter to you.
Consider the power of the words, the quip, the wit, the quote, the verse. We love others for a reason, for a power greater than our own, because “he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for our brethren.”
Be Blessed Today.
