Silence is Deafening

There is nothing louder than silence.

No word, path, or shout.

We all have heard it

We all have felt it

In the shadow of the doubt

There is nothing louder than silence

No one can heed the call

For when silence beckons

The rain falls

And slowly shatters it all

There is nothing louder than silence

No one to lead the charge

Because it takes 15 minutes of boredom

To spark the light of the eye

But one single second,

One tiny second

Is all it takes of silence

Because it only takes a second

Before they can’t handle the silence

It was too loud

The is nothing louder than silence

There is no spark so great

There is no love so sweet

There is no better moment to save

For one single second,

One tiny second

Is all it takes of silence

Because it only takes a second

Before we learn to handle the silence

And the silence leans in to save

The thoughts are few

The fragments many

The night as dark as day

But it only takes a second

A little, tiny second

Of silence

To take you to the grave
